GYRO (gay youth ‘r’ out) in Liverpool is the UK’s longest running LGBT youth group, celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2011. During Anti-Bullying Week (15th – 19th November 2010) GYRO made a film for other LGBT teenagers who might be struggling with bullying or coming out, with the message – It Gets Better Today. The film was made by young people from Project Triangle, an anti-LGBT hate crime initiative run by Liverpool’s LGBT arts festival Homotopia. They are adding their voices to the It Gets Better Project campaign started in the USA following the suicides of several young men because of homophobic bulliyng, which is now supported by Stonewall, the LGB rights charity here in the UK: www.stonewall.org.uk
