First things first - don't worry about what other people think. You are standing up for a cause you believe in, and the people who hurt you don't matter. The people who do matter won't hurt you.

As for what you can do as a 12 year-old, see if your school has a GSA. If not, try to start one. This is a great place to stand up for the rights of homosexuals, because it is a gay-straight alliance - anyone can come! Also, in a GSA, you can plan lots of things, like participating in the National Day of Silence, a day that occured last Friday where high school students, and some middle school students didn't say a word throughout the school day to represent how gays have to keep their sexuality quiet to stay safe from homophobia.

I was in a similar situation to you a little while's ago. It helped that I made a friend with two moms who completely supported me (and dragged me) whenever another opportunity to help homosexuals came around. I have had friends ask me if I was a lesbian, but it was always mild curiousity, and no one has treated me poorly for supporting homosexuals.
